Reflection Paper: Jose Rizal’s Life

The Philippines’ national hero, Jose Rizal in my perspective was one of the most captivating life stories that I have ever encountered. He is not perfect. He is not the most ideal person you’ll expect but what made his biography interesting was his dedication to what he believes in, his passion and his love for the country.
Throughout this semester, I have learned a lot about the life of Rizal. He is considered one of the geniuses in the country but he is not the typical hero you imagined. Yes, he is smart, talented and religious but he can also be witty, was even involved to fights and considered a playboy during his time. Despite that, his flaws don’t make him less of a hero. One of the things I got amazed about was his achievements in life. He became a doctor, novelist, linguist and was able to travel around the world in such a young age. He was able to do a lot of things because of his interest and commitment to learn and do them. He, writing Noli Me Tangere & El Filibusterismo and the other heroic things he did proved that despite his age, youth is the true hope of the nation. He was able to express himself on what is happening to the country and wake fellow Filipinos up.
I’ve learned throughout this semester that it takes courage and trust in oneself to face the storms in your life. If making a change is really into your heart, you can do it. It is not impossible to reach your goals just like what Rizal did if you are really committed on what you are doing. Rizal might not be the best Filipino national hero for everyone but I can say having someone like him is one of the best things that happened in the country.

Reflection about Rizal's life....

The life of Jose Rizal was truly inspiring, especially to us youth. It is not only an ordinary story of a Filipino but a story of a very intelligent, religious and talented person who is ready to sacrifice everything, his whole life, family, to give freedom and peace in his country and fellowmen.
In one semester I’ve known who was really Rizal is. Not only about him but also those learning’s, knowledge and fighting for what is right. After knowing all about him, Rizal really deserves to be what he have known for today as a National Hero of the Philippines it is truly a privilege to study Rizal and better know about him. His life was truly amazing; all those hardships that he struggled with that he became a hero. In my own thoughts, Rizal tells me the value of everything what he was doing starting from his childhood up to his death.  Rizal also thought me that whatever happens we should not stop praising God because he is the best way to determine our success just what like Rizal did. He was been blessed with so much love from his family that is next important for Rizal, who guided him whenever he was. Even today, our family is one of the foundations of every human being. Next to his family was his country and fellowmen, Rizal portray the love for his country as a means of loving his fellow Filipino, to attain justice from the Spaniards. Lastly, I learned from Rizal’s life that we should be productive to grow in our own self, wisdom to use it in God’s purpose.
Rizal really inspires me, so thanks to him and also to our very beautiful professor who really explains all of her knowledge to better understands Rizal’s life.
